Gumrah movie review: There is such a mystery, both sides of which look alike. The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur (Sooraj Rana/Ronnie and Arjun Saghal) in a double role. The film starts with a gruesome murder and after that it seems quite predictable at every turn. The whole film is just increasing with the question that after all who has committed the murder? The film is directed by Vardhan Ketkar and is inspired by true events. At the same time, some examples of Malaysia, US, UK, Germany etc. have also been shown in the final of the film, where such murder mysteries were seen.
Mrinal’s character meets Mardaani
The roles of Mrinal Thakur, Shivani Thakur in the film are exactly like Maharani Mukherjee’s. Shivani works focused in this case and ACP Dheere Dheere Yadav (Ronit Roy) is in this case. Gradually, Arjun Sehgal has some problems, and he has already found him guilty. But the police arrest Suraj/Ronnie in this case. Slowly and Shivani, with two different sides, join hands to decide the matter of who is telling the truth and who is lying?
does not excite
Instead of focusing on the murder mystery at first, only after about 20 minutes the film switches to flashback lives of Arjun and Sooraj, who try to narrate the night of the murder. The film then opens with Arjun and Jhanvi (Vedika) romancing and together, how Sooraj is mistaken for a thief. The film also proved to be weak in how Sooraj and Arjun are connected. There is not a single moment in the film, seeing which you get excited and say wow.
see or not?
Talking about acting, that too is nothing special. Aditya Kapoor has kept the story of both of them separate in a typical way, as one is very sangee and the other is a rebel. There are some good action scenes in the film and some such dialogues which make us laugh. But overall the film feels like one long episode. Let us tell you that the Tamil film Thadam (Thadam) released in 2019 is a Hindi remake. Which you will not be bored, but you will not be excited either. Movies like Samaarn have been seen many times before that how even after all the technology and people, the accident remains ten steps ahead of the police.
